X-CON Series Key Specifications
The Nippon Chemi-Con X-CON series uses a solid conductive polymer electrolyte. The series is designed for surface-mount motherboard and server applications where low ESR and long service life are required.

Why This Datasheet Was Referenced So Often
When the X-CON series was introduced, very few community members had seen specifications for solid polymer caps before. The datasheet clearly showed the ESR advantage over liquid electrolytics of the same value. This made it the reference document for the "why upgrade to polymer" discussion that ran throughout thread #342.
The ESR vs. frequency plot was particularly important. It demonstrated that the X-CON ESR remained stable from DC to 1 MHz, while a liquid electrolytic of similar value showed rising ESR above 50 kHz, exactly where a switchmode VRM operates.
Ordering Information (Historical)
At the time of original publication, X-CON caps were available through Chemi-Con's authorized distribution network. Part numbers follow the format: EEVFK1A681Q (example for 680μF 10V X-CON in D-case). The current catalog may differ. Always verify the current part number through Mouser or Digi-Key before ordering.
